Annual fashion show at Art Academy of Latvia: Una Pūpola wins Spice special award

Tuesday night, June 29, the Art Academy of Latvia’s 2021 fashion show film “Digitization” had its premiere in Pavilion 1 at the Riga Film Studio.   From July 1, the film is available online free of charge. This year, the Spice Shopping Center Award was presented for the first time to support the art of fashion design and young artists.

The Spice Award – support for promoting the collection and an interview with magazine LIFE – went to Una Pūpola, who received the award for a clearly defined target audience, preparedness for the fashion industry market, and for the development of “unattached” brand. Una Pūpola’s collection is her master’s thesis in fashion design, which has received top marks. The designer works according to the principle “Buy less, choose well, make it sustainable”.

Taking into account the current situation in the world and Latvia and the way events are organized at the moment, this year the collections were included in fashion film “Digitization”. Ivars Burtnieks is the director of the film, music was composed by Brauer, Mārtiņš Cīrulis is the photographer, graphic identity is by Aleksandra Samuļenkova.
