Shopping centre Spice: 19 new concept stores and 48% increase in number of visitors

Retail trade industry has been operating in full swing since the Covid-19 restrictions were lifted this past April. Shopping centre Spice Managing Director Iveta Priedīte says it is obvious that customers have missed in-person shopping, which is also evidenced by the rise in the number of visitors, which has increased 48% year on year.

“Even though consumer habits and the industry itself have changed since the pandemic, we are pleased with the number of visitors – currently it is almost the same as before the pandemic. We believe that the ability to adapt to customers’ needs, both physically and emotionally, is extremely important at the moment, which is why shopping centre Spice is undergoing major changes. This year, several new brands have joined shopping centres Spice, Spice Home and Promenade, and it is really great to see shoppers fill the corridors. It motivates us to do more in order to provide the best shopping experience,” says Spice shopping centre’s Managing Director Iveta Priedīte.

Data available to Spice shopping centre show that the number of visitors has increased by 48% compared to last year. In addition, 19 new concept stores opened at the shopping centre in the last six months – ten of them are operated by the shopping centre’s current tenants and nine are new additions that joined the centre this year.

Among the new tenants, there are such prominent brands as GEOX, Marc O’Polo, Paco Lorente, Home&You, Candy Pop, Crème de la Crème and others. At the beginning of the year, the only British perfume store Jo Malone London in Latvia opened at shopping centre Spice, as well as Italian fashion brand PINKO.  Furthermore, the first store of the French children’s clothing brand Jacadi in Latvia opened at Spice shopping centre in May.

In the meantime, ten brands have refurbished their outlets at Spice shopping centre to fit their latest concepts by expanding, reconstructing and modernizing their stores for visitors’ convenience.  One such brand is Douglas, which opened its first new concept store in the Baltics at Spice shopping centre in April, significantly expanding the store and moving to a new location at the shopping centre. Also, such tenants as Ivo Nikkolo, Tommy Hilfiger, Intimissimi, Hobbyshop, NS King, Timberland, Upes Pērles and Baltic Data have gone through significant transformation, and Grenardi will also open its newest concept store at shopping centre Spice in the near future.

Promenade, a safe and comfortable pedestrian promenade between shopping centres Spice and Spice Home, was inaugurated at the beginning of the summer. Modular booths along the Promenade sell quality local products popular with customers, operated by such tenants as Hartvik, Vārpas, Coffee STOP and Caviar d’Eden.

In the near future, another eight outlets will open their doors at the shopping centre. These include the popular clothing and footwear brand Lacoste, children’s clothing store Reima, electronics store SAMSUNG, optician’s LVX Optika, restaurant Streetburger and men’s grooming salon Kowarows Barber shop. New, refurbished concept store of The Body shop will also open at Spice shopping centre in the near future, as well as reconstructed Asian restaurant Gan Bei.
